Marbles

Alive and immortal: Cristallina marble. The only Swiss marble.

Cristallina marble was created in the Triassic period, some 250 million years ago, from the calcification and crystallization of various marine elements, as the sea covered Europe at that time. White marble is in fact the metamorphosis of the remains of corals.

Its crystalline structure, with crystals ranging from 2 to 5 mm, not only makes it more brilliant to the eye but also gives it more durability. Cristallina marble has a very low water absorption rate given its compactness, making it very resistant to frost, weathering, and abrasion. Unlike Carrara marble, Cristallina marble does not have the so-called “taroli” or holes.
